Job summary

Aescape is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own critical subsystems for a robotic platform. You will take subsystems from concept to production, prototype and validate, and drive manufacturing bring-up with our CM and suppliers. This is a hands-on role in a small, senior hardware team.

Open to candidates on-site in NYC or in the greater Boston area, with regular travel to NYC. You will work cross-functionally with Electrical, Firmware, Controls, Product, and Operations to deliver

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; 5+ years hands-on mechanical design experience.
• Own mechanical subsystems through full product development lifecycle.
• Strong SolidWorks skills with FEA, dynamics, kinematics and tolerance analysis.
• Knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal, weldments, CNC, finishes and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Own the design of mechanical subsystems from concept to production release.
• Analyze and test designs using FEA, kinematics, dynamics, tolerance analysis.
• Design for manufacturability, reliability, and cost; select volume components.
• Partner with supply chain, CM, and suppliers for fixtures, assembly processes, and production transfer.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Firmware, Controls, Product, and Operations.
