Job summary

Alert Venture Foundry is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of robotic systems, focusing on challenging mechanisms and manufacturability. The role is hands-on, spanning concept through production, with close collaboration across software, electrical, and systems teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in robotics, machine design, or complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience designing and prototyping mechanical systems from concept through production.
• Experience with electromechanical and fluid power actuators, motion axis sizing, and actuator selection.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as Onshape, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, FEA, materials selection, and design for manufacturability.
• Experience designing machined, molded, 3D-printed, and fabricated components.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development of robotic mechanisms and systems from concept through production.
• Design, prototype, and validate mechanical assemblies and integrated robotic systems.
• Develop innovative mechanisms and optimize designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineering teams on integrated product development.
• Lead design reviews, technical documentation, and validation activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
