Job summary

Fresh Consulting is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to create novel electromechanical systems for a mobile robotics platform, validate designs with rapid prototyping, and support prototype robots from concept to deployment.

Ideal candidates have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Mechatronics with 3+ years of industry experience, strong 3D modeling skills (SolidWorks/Onshape), and hands-on experience with 3D printing, casting, and injection molding.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Mechatronics with 3+ years of industry experience.
• Experience designing and debugging electromechanical systems.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software (Solidworks and Onshape); FEA experience (ANSYS) is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience with 3D printing, sheet metal design, casting, injection molding, prototype manufacturing and assembly.

Responsibilities

• Create novel electro-mechanical mechanisms and systems for a mobile robotics platform and validate them using rapid prototyping fabrication methods.
• Build, debug and support prototype robots.
• Develop designs for volume production methods, knowledge of casting, injection molding, stamping, and other volume production processes.
• Perform failure modes analysis.
• Create work instructions for fabricating robotic systems.
• Develop concepts for systems to meet design requirements.
• Support robot deployments at customer sites as required.
• Redesign robotic systems for volume manufacturing, focusing on reliability and cost optimization.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

What You’ll Do

• Create novel electro-mechanical mechanisms and systems for a mobile robotics platform and validate them using rapid prototyping fabrication methods

• Hands on experience with 3D printing, sheet metal design, casting, injection molding, prototype manufacturing and assembly

Nice to have:

• Experience drafting engineering drawings, conducting tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T, etc.
• Experience with embedded and edge devices, programming, industrial engineering, electrical system selection and design a plus
