Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team supporting greenfield and brownfield power plant design across North America. You will lead high-complexity mechanical design efforts, create P&IDs for power systems, size major equipment, and mentor junior engineers on EPC projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) required.
• At least 8 years of mechanical engineering design experience in power generation.
• Current PE license or in process.

Responsibilities

• Perform high complexity engineering designs including analysis, calculations, research, and equipment selection for EPC projects (conceptual to detailed design).
• Develop mechanical piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) for power plant systems.
• Prepare sizing calculations and specifications for major equipment (boilers, condensers, cooling towers, tanks, pumps).
• Prepare mechanical drawings, As-Builts, PFDs and procurement packages; evaluate vendors.
