Job summary

Mercor is seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers to support an advanced engineering and AI research initiative with a leading technology organisation. You will work on deeply hands-on mechanical and electromechanical systems in production environments.

You will review designs, perform analyses, run tests, and troubleshoot real-world hardware, owning meaningful portions of the engineering lifecycle from requirements through manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
• Hands-on hardware development, analysis, testing, and integration.
• Experience owning parts of the lifecycle from requirements to manufacturing readiness.
• Deep expertise in structures/stress, thermal, or dynamics/controls.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAE, FEA, CFD, testing, and data analysis.
• Experience working on real hardware in production environments.
• Ability to evaluate designs and identify risks and failure modes.

Responsibilities

• Apply hands-on mechanical engineering to complex physical systems.
• Review designs, analyses, simulations, test methods, and troubleshooting.
• Analyse trade-offs in structures, materials, thermal, and dynamics.
• Assess technical correctness and feasibility of solutions.
• Identify design deficiencies and reliability risks.
• Develop or review rigorous problem statements and tests.
• Provide practical feedback grounded in first-principles.
