Mercor is seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers to support an advanced engineering and AI research initiative with a leading technology organisation. You will work hands-on on real hardware, reviewing designs, analyses, and test workflows to validate and improve products.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience, ownership of hardware from concept to manufacturing readiness, and deep expertise in structural, thermal, or dynamics domains.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience, including hands-on hardware development, testing, and validation.
• Responsible engineer for real hardware or physical systems from requirements through manufacturing readiness.
• Deep expertise in structural/stress analysis, thermal analysis, mechanical design, or dynamics and controls.
• Hands-on experience analysing, testing, debugging, and validating physical hardware using CAD/CAE/FEA/CFD and data acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Apply hands-on mechanical engineering expertise to complex tasks involving real physical systems.
• Review and evaluate mechanical designs, analyses, simulations, test methodologies, and troubleshooting approaches.
• Analyse trade-offs in structures, materials, thermal performance, mechanical design, dynamics, vibration, controls, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Assess correctness and feasibility of engineering solutions for real-world problems.
• Identify incorrect assumptions, boundary conditions, design deficiencies, failure modes, and risks.
• Develop or review rigorous engineering problems, reference solutions, and documentation.
• Draw on design, simulation, prototyping, hardware integration, test, validation, qualification, and manufacturing experience.
