Job summary

Hydro Extrusions in Cressona, PA seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead reliability and improvements across extrusion manufacturing equipment, collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and other engineering functions.

The role emphasizes capital projects, troubleshooting, safety, and Lean-based problem solving to drive safety, quality, throughput and cost improvements; 10+ years' engineering experience preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of engineering experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting mechanical equipment in large-scale industrial manufacturing ( metals, aluminum, steel, foundry, automotive, or heavy process ).
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, troubleshooting, improvements and failure analysis.
• Experience designing or implementing machine guarding, fail-safe systems and engineering controls to reduce hazards.
• Ability to evaluate equipment layouts, maintenance access and space for new installations and plant mods.
• Experience investigating structural integrity concerns involving industrial equipment, lifting systems, cranes or supporting structures.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support for extrusion presses and related equipment; lead reliability and continuous improvement projects.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment issues and develop corrective actions.
• Lead capital projects from concept to startup and installation.
• Develop specifications, layouts, drawings, calculations, and project documentation.
• Partner with Maintenance and Operations to identify reliability opportunities and reduce recurring failures.
• Ensure safety, environmental and industry standards compliance.
• Mentor maintenance and operations personnel as needed.
