Overview
Manufacturing Information Systems Engineer – Cressona, Pennsylvania. Full Time position in the largest aluminum extrusion mill in North America. The engineer provides hydraulic and machine design expertise and general mechanical engineering knowledge for assigned projects.
Responsibilities
- Upgrade and design equipment; specify materials and services; supervise installation, start-up, and troubleshooting of new and existing equipment.
- Lead projects from scope definition through final execution while collaborating with diverse plant project teams.
- Lead contractors and support the plant maintenance team to ensure equipment functionality and reliability; provide recommendations to increase equipment and overall production system efficiency.
- Work with internal and external engineering resources, equipment suppliers, and construction contractors to complete projects safely, on time, and on budget.
- Perform engineering tasks such as analytical problem solving, design calculations, proposal reviews, equipment selection, vendor drawing reviews, scheduling, and cost control.
- Provide engineering assistance to maintenance and manufacturing departments: develop solutions for maintenance/reliability issues, evaluate upgrades, update drawings, troubleshoot systems, and coordinate training and equipment documentation.
- Communicate schedules and project status with the department, other plant departments, equipment suppliers, and contractors.
Required Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years engineering experience.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- PE License or (EIT/EI) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of project engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, heavy industrial preferred.
