Job summary

Allegion seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer—Product Lifecycle Engineering to sustain and improve existing mechanical products. You will lead cross-functional teams, resolve field and manufacturing issues, and support new product introductions with a focus on cost-reduction and reliability.

You will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, Suppliers and Test to ensure products remain reliable, compliant, manufacturable, and cost-effective across their lifecycle.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in design and development of mechanical systems.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and CAD software (Creo preferred).
• Ability to build proof-of-concept solutions for scale.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structured problem-solving approaches to design challenges to determine root causes.
• Utilize engineering tools (FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, GD&T, Tolerance Stack Analysis & DFM/DFA) to mitigate risk early in design.
• Develop design documentation, 3D models/drawings, and instructions for manufacturing and testing; Creo experience is a plus.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, Suppliers and Test in cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate development timelines and track activities to meet delivery and cost commitments.
• Maintain awareness of Allegion policies and ensure compliance.
