Job summary

Chicago Bridge & Iron Company is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and analyze mechanical deliverables including pressure vessels, heat transfer equipment, and rotating machinery for CB&I projects. You will lead calculations, drawings, and vendor coordination while meeting schedules and budgets in a dynamic environment.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical systems, formal design reviews, and effective communication with cross-functional teams across project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• EIT or pursuing EIT
• Proficient verbal and written communication
• Experience designing mechanical systems and products
• Excellent math skills with advanced principles
• Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar
• Organizational level: P2

Responsibilities

• Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products
• Develop testing processes and perform validation of new designs
• Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstrations
• Perform engineering calculations to support design work
• Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and vendors
• Document project development and design processes
• Ensure timelines and budgets are met
• Promote CB&I’s products across engineering, fabrication, and construction
