Job summary

CB&I is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design and analysis for complex deliverables, including pressure vessels and piping, across CB&I projects. You will manage design calculations, drawings, and vendor packages while coordinating with project teams and sites.

The role emphasizes independent work, budget adherence, and strong communication within engineering and management. Prior experience with SolidWorks/AutoCAD is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of company/industry experience
• 5–10 years in the discipline
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited school
• EIT candidate or PE license preferred
• Proficient verbal and written communication
• Strong grasp of engineering concepts and mechanical design experience
• Excellent math skills
• Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
• Organizational level: P2
• Reports to Project Engineer or Engineering Manager

Overview

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is and individual contributor responsible for the mechanical design and analysis of assigned deliverables for CB&I projects including specific complex deliverables such as pressure vessels, heat transfer equipment, rotating equipment and piping engineering. Responsibilities may include: Managing projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex. Work includes, among other things, conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, design calculations, specification development and supervising vendor packages for equipment and mechanical systems. The role reports to the Department or Manager and routinely interacts with other Mechanical Engineers, Project Engineers and Managers.

• 5-10 Yrs - Discipline
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related field from an accredited school is required.
• Engineer In Training (EIT) or working toward obtaining EIT, and then a professional engineering license is preferred.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
• Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
• Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
• Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar
• Organizational level: P2
• Reports to Project Engineer or Engineering Manager

Pay Range: $105,795-$132,243- USD/Annually
