Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior Associate, Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design and analysis for precision mechanisms used in mission systems. You will own components from concept through integration and test, delivering dependable capability for critical government programs.

The role requires on-site work at Palm Bay, FL; Carlsbad, CA; or Herndon, VA, with strong collaboration across manufacturing, quality, and program test teams. A Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years related experience; graduate degree or equivalent with 0–2 years; or 6+ years in lieu of degree.
• Active Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance required within last two years.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design, analysis, prototype integration and testing for precision mechanisms.
• Develop 3D models, drawings, data packages and assembly documentation.
• Evaluate materials and design trades for performance, weight, power and reliability.
• Plan and execute component/system tests and drive design improvements.
• Present designs at internal and customer reviews including PDRs/CDRs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to transition designs to production.
• Support field-test or demonstration activities as needed.
