Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to drive full-lifecycle mechanism design for devices with moving parts. The role involves conceptualization, 3D CAD modeling, hardware validation, and creating mechanical drawings while collaborating with fabricators to keep projects on schedule and budget.

The position requires a BS in mechanical engineering, 5–10 years of design experience, proficiency with SolidWorks, and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• BSME degree required or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of mechanical design experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical devices, linkages, and sub-assemblies.
• Create high-precision components in SolidWorks and manage complex assemblies.
• Perform calculations, tolerance stack-ups, and simulations for reliability.
• Coordinate with fabrication shops to communicate machining details.
• Prepare technical reports and present design results to customers.
