Job summary

Tektronix in Solon, OH seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer for the Precision DC Solutions team. You will design mechanical components and enclosures for electronic instrumentation, create 3D CAD models and drawings, and support from concept to production.

You will analyze thermal and structural aspects, collaborate with Electrical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, and Supply Chain teams, and drive design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• 5–10 years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong experience with 3D CAD modeling and mechanical design.
• Experience creating engineering drawings.
• Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies for manufacturing.
• Experience working on complex products from concept through production.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and enclosures for electronic instrumentation products.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, bills of material, and product documentation.
• Support new product development from concept through production release.
• Work with cross-functional teams to meet performance, cost, quality, and schedule goals.
• Build and evaluate prototypes and support design verification testing.
• Perform engineering analysis related to thermal performance, structural integrity, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Support production, quality, and customer issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Lead and support ECRs and PLM activities.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations.
• Support product sustainment, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing to ensure producible designs.
