Job summary

Tektronix, Inc. in Solon, Ohio, is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to join the Precision DC Solutions team.

You will design mechanical parts, assemblies, and enclosures for electronic products, and support from concept through production release. You will work with cross-functional teams including Electrical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Test, Quality and Supply Chain, build and test prototypes, and apply good design practices for thermal performance, manufacturability, and reliability.

Qualifications

• 0–5 years of professional, internship, or co-op experience.
• 3D CAD modeling experience from school, internships, co-ops or full-time work.
• Basic understanding of mechanical design and engineering drawings.
• Familiar with common manufacturing methods and materials.
• Strong problem solving and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical parts, assemblies, and enclosures for electronic products.
• Create and update 3D CAD models, drawings, bills of material, and product documents.
• Support new product development from concept through production release.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, Compliance, and Supply Chain teams.
• Build and review prototypes and support design verification testing.
• Apply design practices for thermal performance, strength, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Assist with engineering change requests and PLM workflows.
• Support cost reduction and continuous improvement efforts.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing to ensure manufacturability.
