Job summary

Tektronix in Solon, OH is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to design mechanical parts and enclosures for precision electronic test equipment. You will develop 3D CAD models, drawings, and BOMs, and support products from early concept through production release with cross-functional teams including Electrical, Firmware, Manufacturing, and Quality.

Ideal candidates will have 0–5 years of experience, a 3D CAD background, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 0–5 years of professional, internship, or co-op experience.
• 3D CAD modeling experience from school, internships, co-ops, or full-time work.
• Creo Parametric experience preferred; not required.
• Experience with sheet metal, machined parts, plastic parts, or mechanical assemblies.
• Basic knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Knowledge of thermal design, airflow, or heat transfer is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical parts, assemblies, and enclosures for electronic products.
• Create and update 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and product documents.
• Support new product development from concept to production release.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, Compliance, and Supply Chain teams.
• Build and test prototypes and support design verification testing.
• Contribute to design reviews and document test results.
