Job summary

Legrand AV, Inc. in Canonsburg, PA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of new power distribution and thermal management products.

You will work with cross-functional teams, apply advanced mechanical engineering methods, ensure manufacturability, and interact with certification laboratories to meet required standards. Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• BS Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• 4–7 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or similar.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Create innovative, customizable power distribution and monitoring solutions that provides value to our partners across all markets.
• Use a systematic, analytically-based approach to concepting, designing, and testing.
• Collaborate with the engineering team tasked with the commercialization and launch of Legrand designed products.
• Perform advanced mechanical engineering design tasks and provide feedback in support of customer specific customizations of Legrand products.
• Assist in directing the testing required, verifying product performance, system integration, and compliance with applicable standards.
• Partner with Production, Quality, and Purchasing staff to assure product manufacturability.
• Create mentoring relationships with other Engineers
• Review the work of others, including Drafters and Engineers.
• Collaboration with certification laboratories such as UL and Intertek as well as various international agencies. Provide lab testing support.
• Assist in leading Team-based initiatives within Legrand
