Job summary

The candidate will collaborate with an engineering team on commercialization, contribute to product validation, and mentor other engineers. Travel up to 10% is required, with a focus on manufacturability and standards compliance.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• 4–7 years of mechanical design experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
• Experience with integrated system design including mechanical and thermal simulation, 3D modeling, GD&T, DFM, and material selection.
• Knowledge of agency standards and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and validation of power distribution and monitoring solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering team for commercialization and launch.
• Perform advanced mechanical design tasks and support customer-specific customizations.
• Oversee testing, verify performance, system integration, and compliance with standards.
• Partner with Production, Quality, and Purchasing to assure manufacturability.
• Create mentoring relationships with other engineers.
• Review the work of others including drafters and engineers.
• Collaborate with certification laboratories such as UL and Intertek and provide lab testing support.
• Lead team-based initiatives.
