LayerZero Power Systems in Aurora, Ohio, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead structural, thermal, and manufacturing integration for next-generation power systems such as Static Transfer Switches and Power Distribution Units. This on-site role emphasizes first principles engineering and reliable design.

You will drive advanced analysis (FEA/CFD), optimize CAD for manufacturability, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to design reviews while ensuring safety and compliance with

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electromechanical design and simulation experience.
• Proficiency with Solid Edge CAD.
• Expert in FEA and CFD for thermal and structural analysis.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70, UL, IEC, CSA, NOM or ANSI standards for power equipment.
• PE license highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and analysis for power systems, including Static Transfer Switches and Power Distribution Units.
• Perform advanced FEA and CFD simulations.
• Validate analytical models through calculation, prototype testing and measurement.
• Optimize 3D CAD models for internal manufacturing capabilities.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and provide high-level technical resolution for field issues.
• Coach junior engineers in advanced analysis techniques.
• Define and support testing parameters for prototypes and production units.
