Job summary

Inteplast Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop mechanical components and systems for large-scale industrial equipment. You will work on projects involving plastic or paper processing machinery, collaborating with electrical and software engineers to integrate systems and meet production goals.

The role requires a strong foundation in engineering, hands-on CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred), and experience with automated machinery, drive/PLC theory, and materials selection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as Mechanical Engineer.
• Familiar with drive/PLC operation and PC networks.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar.
• Strong knowledge of automated process machinery and controls.
• Electrical knowledge to support equipment improvements.
• Experience coordinating with vendors for parts.
• Proven mechanical design and product development experience.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical Design: Develop and design mechanical components, systems, and products for plastic or paper processing equipment.
• Use CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to create detailed drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems into overall product design.
• Prototyping and Testing: Create prototypes and test to validate designs.
• Material and Manufacturing: Select materials and processes and coordinate with suppliers.
• Product Management: Manage projects from concept through completion with timelines and budgets.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare engineering documentation and present findings.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs meet industry standards and safety regulations.
