Job summary

Inteplast Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer to oversee electrical aspects of manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and regulatory compliance. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize production, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to boost productivity and product quality.

The candidate will design and implement electrical systems, analyze processes for optimization, and support maintenance with technical guidance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastic or paper.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls and instrumentation, including PLC programming and HMI design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design and layout (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical).
  • Familiarity with NEC, IEC, UL.
  • Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrate project management abilities, including planning, execution and implementation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement electrical systems and controls for manufacturing processes, equipment, and machinery.
  • Ensure designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to optimize and improve efficiency.
  • Implement electrical upgrades, modifications, and automation solutions to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
  • Investigate and resolve electrical issues in manufacturing equipment and systems; collaborate with maintenance technicians to diagnose and repair failures promptly.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure consistency and reliability in manufacturing processes; conduct inspections and audits.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of electrical designs, specifications, and modifications; generate reports for management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project activities and align with manufacturing objectives.
  • Provide training and technical support to manufacturing staff on electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Availability for 24-hour consultation to maintenance staff for equipment anomalies.
  • Comply with plant safety regulations and good manufacturing practices.
  • Other duties as assigned by plant/maintenance managers.
