Job summary

Pfizer Inc. in the United States seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Utilities & Environmental Systems to design, maintain and optimize plant utility systems across manufacturing facilities.

You will lead projects, provide technical guidance, and ensure compliant operations supporting patient access to medicines. You will develop engineering solutions for HVAC, chillers, water systems, and safety-critical equipment, manage resources, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet schedules

Qualifications

• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of Process Safety Management elements.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Asset Management Solutions or CMMS applications.
• Thorough knowledge of cGMP and pharmaceutical regulations.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to shift priorities according to facility needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for plant utility and environmental systems (HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, steam, heating, cleanrooms, fume hoods, BAS).
• Design and support HVAC and utility systems for pharma/biotech facilities.
• Develop design solutions, sizing and basis-of-design documentation.
• Perform airflow, temperature, humidity, and utility load calculations.
• Prepare P&IDs, equipment layouts, and control philosophies.
• Provide construction administration and field support including commissioning and turnover.
• Lead multiple projects with cross-functional stakeholders and oversight.
• Update drawings, SOPs, and validation strategies as required.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, SOPs, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Support operations through procedure development and preventive maintenance improvements.
