Job summary

The Talent Mine is recruiting a Staff Mechanical Engineer, Optical Payloads in the greater Seattle area. You will lead the mechanical design and integration of satellite payloads, translating requirements into innovative concepts and production-ready drawings.

You’ll collaborate across teams to ensure considerations of space environments, interfaces, and test plans are met. Your role combines technical leadership with hands-on contribution on a multi-disciplinary team focused on delivering

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 10+ years in mechanical engineering roles, preferably in space/launch.
• Experience maturing designs from concept to drawings.
• Experience with optical system design.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and integration of satellite payloads.
• Develop technical plans addressing requirements, risks, and schedule.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams across programs.
• Produce and maintain drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
• Support manufacturing and test activities and resolve issues.
