Job summary

ICEYE is seeking a Senior Optomechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of the optical payloads for satellite instruments. You will work hands-on on CAD, analysis, and optimization, bridging optical and mechanical domains to preserve performance through prototyping, integration, and pre-launch qualification.

You will collaborate with manufacturers and subcontractors to ensure precision, alignment, and quality, contributing to a robust, flight-ready system that meets space environment

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of mechanical CAD design, analysis and optimization through all project phases.
• Familiarity with material science for space environments (outgassing, thermal cycling, thermoelastic effects).
• Ownership of problems, proactive, R&D learning and iterative improvement.
• Experience delivering designs through suppliers, working with manufacturers and subcontractors to production.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical side of optical payload development from concept to production and pre-launch qualification.
• Interface between optical and mechanical domains to preserve performance.
• Coordinate with external manufacturers and suppliers to ensure precision, alignment, and quality.
