Zen Sherpa LLC, a leading engineering design organization, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, optimize and validate mobile heavy equipment used in oil and gas and industrial applications. You will lead cross-functional teams to deliver field-ready solutions and ensure reliability in high-load environments.

This 100% on-site role at our Minneapolis facility offers collaboration with multidisciplinary engineers, opportunities to mentor junior staff, occasional travel to client sites,

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in oil & gas or heavy industrial equipment.
• Proficiency in Inventor, Pro-E, or SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, power units, and mechanical assemblies.
• Proven ability to manage projects from concept through deployment.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and technical reporting skills.

Aufgaben

• Design & Development — Engineer mobile mechanical systems including hydraulic equipment, lifting systems, and field-service machinery.
• Performance Optimization — Improve reliability, efficiency, and durability for harsh operating conditions.
• CAD Modeling — Create detailed CAD models and drawings using Inventor (preferred), Pro-E, or SolidWorks.
• Prototype & Validation — Test, refine, and validate equipment to meet API, ASME, and internal quality standards.
• Troubleshooting — Diagnose field issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration — Work closely with design, manufacturing, and field teams to deliver robust, field-ready solutions.
