Job summary

Teledyne Brown Engineering in Huntsville, AL is seeking an experienced mechanical/ME engineer to design and analyze complex systems for DOE and commercial nuclear applications. You will lead a small team and interface closely with the program manager to deliver manufacturable designs.

Qualifications include a BS in engineering, 5–10 years of related experience, proficiency with SolidWorks, ANSYS, and Adams; GD&T; and strong technical writing skills. Nuclear industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5–10 years of directly related experience and/or training.
• Active Professional Engineering License a strong plus.
• Experience working within nuclear industry is a plus.
• Strong technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs based on customer and regulatory requirements.
• Create 3D models and shop drawings using SolidWorks.
• Perform kinematic, stress, structural and thermal analyses using FEA (ANSYS).
• Perform kinematic and kinetic analyses using multibody dynamics simulation software such as Adams by Hexagon.
• Coordinate fabrication and installation activities to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Lead small engineering team (3-5 engineers) and interface with Program Manager/lead project engineer.
• Prepare proposals and estimates (Basis of Estimates).
• Write and review Design Basis Documents and System Design Descriptions.
• Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications.
