Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Mechanical/Mechanical-Electrical design engineer to research, plan, design and analyze complex assemblies and systems for industrial applications. You will lead small teams (3–5 engineers) as needed and interface with project managers and engineers.

Responsibilities include developing manufacturable designs, creating SolidWorks models, performing ANSYS FEA, thermal and structural analyses, and providing technical leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 5–10 years of related experience.
• Experience with nuclear/government/DOE projects a plus.
• Active Professional Engineer license a strong plus.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain government security clearance.
• Ability to travel domestically approximately ±10%.
• Strong technical writing skills and experience documenting designs per ASME NQA-1.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs based on customer and regulatory requirements and verify designs.
• Create 3D models and shop drawings using SolidWorks.
• Perform kinematic, stress, structural and thermal analyses using ANSYS.
• Coordinate fabrication and installation activities to meet specifications.
• Write and review DBs, SDDs, and procurement specifications.
• Lead small engineering teams (3–5 engineers) when required.
