Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership for design, analysis, procurement, construction, and implementation of modifications at commercial nuclear power plants and other nuclear facilities.

The successful candidate will lead mechanical engineering scopes, supervise analyses, and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements. Hybrid work arrangement and travel are involved.

Qualifications

• Active PE registration or able to obtain within one year.
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum six years in mechanical engineering; four years in nuclear plant modifications.
• Ability to develop and coordinate mechanical calculations, specs, drawings, and change packages.
• Experience leading mechanical sections of projects and managing scope, schedule, and budget.
• Knowledge of ASME, NFPA, API and licensing-basis requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical scope for commercial nuclear modification projects.
• Act as Mechanical Project Engineer for assigned projects.
• Serve as technical point of contact for clients.
• Prepare and coordinate calculations, specifications, drawings, and change docs.
• Verify design inputs using drawings, licenses and standards.
• Develop proposals, labor estimates and schedules.
• Conduct field walkdowns and support installation planning.
• Coordinate interfaces with other disciplines and vendors.
• Mentor engineers and deliver compliant engineering records.
