Job summary

BLOC Resources seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer SR 1 to provide engineering and technical support for Southern Nuclear's Extended Power Uprate (EPU) initiatives. The role includes developing and reviewing design input requests, evaluating plant systems, and ensuring alignment with licensing and design-basis requirements.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in commercial nuclear power, strong knowledge of nuclear plant systems, and proven ability to review complex engineering information

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial nuclear power industry experience.
• Strong understanding of nuclear plant systems, operations, engineering, design, and licensing processes.
• Ability to review engineering analyses, reports, calculations, or related technical documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and technical support for Extended Power Uprate projects (PWR and BWR).
• Support development, review, and validation of design input requests (DIRs).
• Review and validate technical analyses, calculations, and reports.
• Coordinate with internal and external engineering teams and A/E firms.
• Assist with licensing support and regulatory documentation as needed.
