Insight Global is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support nuclear plant modification projects for a leading EPC firm in Chattanooga, TN. You will lead mechanical engineering efforts from design through procurement, construction, testing, and implementation to ensure safe and reliable operation of nuclear facilities.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical engineering, experience with nuclear codes, and the ability to travel for outage assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• 3+ years supporting modifications at operating nuclear power plants.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering scopes for nuclear plant modification projects.
• Serve as the Mechanical Project Engineer on assigned projects.
• Develop and review calculations, specifications, reports, drawings, and design change packages.
• Conduct plant walkdowns and verify field conditions.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil, structural, I&C, procurement, and construction teams.
• Review vendor documentation and equipment submittals.
• Manage project scope, schedule, quality, and budget expectations.
• Support design reviews, testing, implementation, and outage activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
