Job summary

RSI Environmental seeks a manufacturing engineer to support the ACRR fuel stewardship team, focusing on welding and machining for fuel component fabrication. You will develop conceptual and final designs, refine requirements, and drive procurement with vendors who meet CGD and QA standards.

Ideal candidates have 10–15 years in nuclear-related engineering, SolidWorks experience, and a strong grounding in fabrication, welding metallurgy, and safety compliance. DOE clearance eligibility is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science/Technical Field (prefer mechanical engineering) from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• 10–15 years of practical work experience in engineering roles related to fuel systems and manufacturing.
• Experience in nuclear work (radiography, hot cells, reactor operations) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for fabricating nuclear reactor fuel components and equipment.
• Complete conceptual and final engineering designs.
• Identify and qualify vendors with appropriate QA programs for CGD and components.
• Obtain cost estimates and schedules for fabrication.
• Coordinate design reviews and ensure compliance with NQA-1.
