Job summary

NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic's ROICC New London is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for installation shore facilities and complex alterations. You will guide development of plans, specs, studies, and reports, ensuring QC in in-house design and mitigating risk across early planning to post-construction services.

Candidates should have a professional engineering degree (ABET-accredited) and PE licensure or equivalent path, with experience reviewing drawings and leading

Qualifications

• Current PE registration or enrollment in appropriate licensure path.
• Experience reviewing facility drawings and specifications for mechanical systems.
• Ability to write statements of work, estimates, and support contract activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design for installation shore facilities and modifications.
• Provide technical guidance and quality control during in-house design.
• Develop project planning documents, RFPs, plans, specs, and reports.
• Assess risks in planning/design/construction and propose mitigations.
• Prepare statements of work, estimates, and support negotiations.
• Provide post-construction services including review of contractor submittals.
