Standard Bots is building Bolt, a mobile manipulation platform with an autonomous base and robot arms. We are hiring two Senior Mechanical Engineers to own major subsystems such as chassis, drivetrain and suspension, wheel modules, battery mounting, and the control box.

You’ll take your subsystem from concept through prototype builds, test, and production release, working hands-on in the shop and lab. You’ll be based at our Boston-area office with some flexibility on in-office days once up to

Formación

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related).
• 5+ years designing, building, and testing electromechanical products.
• Strong structures and mechanisms knowledge: load paths, stiffness, fatigue.
• Hand calcs and FEA; defend numbers with sizing.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and PDM/PLM release process.

Responsabilidades

• Own the design of Bolt subsystems from requirements through production release: concept, detailed design, analysis, drawings, and release.
• Run trade studies to define architecture, materials, stiffness, thermal, serviceability, cost; align with EE/software/safety.
• Hands-on work: SolidWorks design, hand calcs, FEA, tolerances, DFM across metal/plastic parts; build/test prototypes.
• Define and run subsystem tests (static/dynamic loads, vibration, drop, thermal, ingress) and feed results into design.
• Be the technical contact for subsystem fabricators; drive DFM/DFA feedback and support production issues.
• Lead design reviews for your subsystem and mentor junior engineers.
