Job summary

Thomas Young Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Mission Critical) to lead design for data center projects in a rapidly expanding practice. You will own HVAC, plumbing and related systems, develop construction documents, and mentor junior engineers in a new Dallas office.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 8+ years of experience in mechanical design, strong Revit skills, and a PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering or design experience preferred.
• Strong HVAC and mechanical systems design experience.
• Experience with data centers or other technically demanding facilities.
• Advanced Revit skills.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design and analysis software.
• CFD experience would be an advantage.
• PE license required or strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for mission critical and data center projects.
• Design HVAC, plumbing and other mechanical building systems.
• Support equipment selection and system sizing.
• Provide technical input across controls and fire protection.
• Complete and review engineering calculations and technical analysis.
• Develop coordinated construction documents and review RFIs and submittals.
• Work closely with electrical and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical direction and mentor junior engineers.
• Support project planning and delivery as the local team grows
