Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead design efforts for midstream natural gas facilities, compressor stations, metering stations and pipelines from concept through construction. The role emphasizes collaboration in a flexible hybrid environment in Lexington, KY.

The position requires a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a PE license, with 10 years of oil & gas or midstream experience and a strong background in facilities design and project leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• PE license required or actively pursuing licensure.
• Experience leading mechanical design projects in oil & gas or midstream.
• Strong communication and written/verbal skills.
• Knowledge of industry codes, standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering and design activities across the project lifecycle.
• Develop calculations, specifications, and drawings for facilities and pipelines.
• Support compressor and metering station and piping system design.
• Collaborate with project managers to meet schedule and budget.
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and design reviews.
• Review vendor proposals and technical documentation.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote safety-first culture.
