  • Interpret codes, standards, and design inputs with the ability to apply them within the design and discuss compliance and requirements with code officials.
  • Independently develop calculations, design narratives, and work plans that serve as the basis for HVAC system designs and project specifications
  • Serve as Engineer of Record for projects developed under their direction.
  • Review the work of others and provide specific guidance to the project team to further the design.
  • Proactively identify and resolve workflow issues, ensuring smooth project progress and addressing challenges before they impact the schedule or deliverables.
  • Mentor and develop associates with less experience, providing guidance and training to support their professional development.
  • Apply advanced engineering principles to solve technical and coordination issues.
  • Manage project designs and budgets with limited oversight.
  • Attend internal and client coordination meetings with the ability to give direction, make technical decisions, and ensure project goals are met
  • Conduct site visits and investigations as required.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals, ensuring long-term client satisfaction.
  • Display leadership and management abilities.
  • Provide cross-disciplinary technical and engineering assistance.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by participating in client presentations and identifying new opportunities.
  • Take personal ownership of the work produced, ensuring that all engineering deliverables meet the highest standards, while continuously striving to enhance processes and performance across the department.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Extensive proven relevant technical expertise, with demonstrated leadership and hands-on field experience in mechanical engineering projects.
  • Previous experience leading high-performing teams, managing client relationships, and driving business development in a consulting or A/E firm environment.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and other basic software.
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate with senior management, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of the components of the plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems that will require power, and be able to coordinate those discipline requirements into the mechanical design.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, with occasional bending and the capacity to lift up to 10 lbs. as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed for project meetings, site visits, or client engagements.
