Job summary

Sr. Mechanical Engineer for a Medical Device Company in Sparks, MD. This 12+ month contract role requires 40 hours/week, 50-75% onsite work, and a pay rate of $45-50/hr. First shift, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no H1B requirements.

Responsibilities include mechanical/electro-mechanical design for diagnostic instrumentation, cross-functional collaboration, and adherence to ISO 9001 and CGMP standards. Candidates must have a mechanical engineering background and regulated industry experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in regulated medical device industry and product development.
• Knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5M.

Responsibilities

• Detail design of automated mechanical or electro-mechanical systems and subsystems.
• Develop design inputs (specifications) for mechanical systems.
• Apply engineering methods to develop robust designs.
• Design products to meet cost targets and estimate labor costs.
• Estimate work effort and participate in technical reviews.
• Assist in test planning to ensure reliability and robustness.
• Coordinate with electrical, systems, software, and test engineering.
• Create drawings and specifications per internal and industry standards.
• Ensure ISO 9001 and CGMP compliance for medical devices.
