Job summary

VPE Thermal LLC is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong background in manufacturing to convert high-level designs into hardware. You will oversee draftsmen, review drawings to ASME BPVC standards, and coordinate with procurement for BOMs and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from accredited four-year college or university.
• More than four years working in high paced manufacturing environment.
• Course work in solid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.
• Computer aided design (CAD) from construction of a 3D model to detailed engineering drawings.
• Document manufacturing plans, work instructions, design information, and research findings.
• Basic project management including quoting, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
• Interpret and deliver products adhering to customer design specifications.
• Manufacturing processes including cutting, milling, forming, and welding of stainless steel.

Responsibilities

• Take high-level designs and produce documentation to convert into hardware.
• Review and approve drafts with a detailed understanding of ASME BPVC and specs.
• Interface with procurement to disseminate BOMs and establish project budgets.
• Issue design package for manufacturing and collaborate on build sequence and traveler generation.
• Perform NC closure, repair/rework instructions, and root-cause analysis as needed.
