Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group in Tampa, FL seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead large-scale mechanical design and project leadership for landmark buildings. The role emphasizes client interaction, technical supervision, and developing sustainable HVAC solutions.

You will coordinate with architectural, structural, and electrical teams, manage budgets, and contribute to proposals. A current EIT/PE and LEED AP are highly preferred; 7–8+ years in consulting is expected.

Qualifications

• Current EIT and/or PE registration as Mechanical Engineer.
• 7–8+ years' experience in a consulting firm.
• LEED AP accreditation is highly preferred.
• Strong ability to coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and telecom.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT.
• EIT or PE required for Senior Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Firm in interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and project team members.
• Design large projects, prepare reports and specifications, and provide technical leadership.
• Develop sustainable mechanical solutions and detailed drawings.
• Coordinate with design team, owner, and contractors; establish design standards and criteria.
• Prepare proposals and administer project contracts; manage budgets and schedules.
• Participate in QA/QC processes and staff resource management.
