Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group in Tampa, FL is seeking a Senior - Supervising Mechanical Engineer I to lead complex building mechanical systems design on landmark projects. The role requires hands-on design, technical leadership, and mentoring of junior engineers.

You will coordinate with architects, structures, electrical teams, and clients, prepare reports and specifications, oversee drawing production in AutoCAD/REVIT, and help grow the team while delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 8–12 years' experience in a mechanical/consulting engineering firm.
• EIT and/or PE registration.
• LEED AP accreditation preferred.
• Strong ability to coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and telecom, as well as its constructability and cost.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Firm with clients, contractors, architects, and project team members.
• Design large projects, prepare reports and specifications, and provide technical leadership.
• Develop sustainable mechanical solutions and produce concepts and drawings.
• Oversee the production of drawings to client standards.
• Coordinate with design team, owner, and contractors.
• Establish design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.
• Prepare proposals and administer project contracts including Add Service Agreements.
• Conduct business development activities and participate in trade organizations.
