Job summary

Progressive Design, Inc. is seeking an entrepreneurial spirited Senior Mechanical Engineer for a full-time, direct-hire position in Midlothian, Virginia (Richmond area).

You will manage the engineering and design process from inception to completion—leading projects, coordinating designers and engineers, performing design reviews, and checking calculations, drawings and reports. A ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree and 10+ years of heavy industrial experience are required; US

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree required.
• 10+ years heavy industrial design/engineering experience.
• Project management experience.
• Experience in multidiscipline engineering consulting environment.
• Process safety knowledge (PHAs, HAZOPs, risk assessment).

Responsibilities

• Direct customer interface and coordination.
• Develop study reports, bids, scopes of work, P&IDs, estimates and schedules.
• Manage scope, schedule, and budget.
• Lead projects and oversee designers and engineers.
• Perform sizing calculations for process piping and equipment.
• Review equipment submittals for accuracy and conformance with specs.
• Visit customer sites for field work and assist in commissioning.
