Job summary

Progressive Design, Inc. in the Richmond, VA area is seeking an Electrical Engineer (mid to senior level) for a full-time direct hire in Midlothian, VA.

The role focuses on power distribution, machine control and instrumentation design for heavy industrial projects. You'll collaborate with project managers, engineers and clients, develop concepts through final documentation, and contribute to cost estimates, materials lists, schedules and constructability reviews.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited undergraduate program.
• 5+ years of heavy industrial experience; 10+ years for senior role.
• Virginia PE preferred but not required.
• Experience with AutoCAD and MS Office.
• US citizen, valid driver's license, pass drug test & background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical design duties including power distribution, machine control and instrumentation design.
• Develop concepts through final project documentation requirements.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers and Clients to deliver safe, compliant solutions.
• Develop Construction Cost Estimates.
• Create materials lists and obtain quotations for design components.
• Assist in developing schedules, specifications and constructability reviews.
• Maintain project design files and vendor documentation.
• Certify accuracy and completeness of deliverables and allocate tasks within resources.
