Job summary

Progressive Design, Inc. in Midlothian, Virginia seeks a Senior Process Engineer to lead complex industrial projects from concept through startup. You will design equipment specs, PFDs/P&IDs, perform mass and energy balances, and coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

You should have 10+ years of heavy industrial experience and a chemical engineering degree. PE in Virginia preferred but not required; a discretionary 10% bonus target accompanies a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• ChemE degree from ABET-accredited school.
• 10+ years of heavy industrial design/ process engineering experience.
• Virginia PE preferred but not required.
• Experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, or bio-processing is a plus.
• Experience leading projects and coordinating multi-discipline teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare PFDs and P&IDs for assigned projects.
• Size and specify pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, chillers, and other equipment.
• Perform piping, service, and utility system calculations.
• Verify safety relief devices sizing and performance.
• Review submittals and validate against specs.
• Lead project planning, scope development, and client communications.
