Job summary

Olsson's Facilities Engineering and Design Team is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead QA/QC and high-level design reviews. You will advise on complex projects across commercial, healthcare, and institutions, applying your advanced experience to deliver elevated, high-quality engineering solutions.

You will mentor staff, ensure design quality, and develop innovative approaches while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams in Des Moines and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer with at least eight years of progressive engineering experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; strong knowledge of International Building Codes.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level project design and review of project documents, ensuring design quality for complex projects.
• Serve as a technical specialist, applying advanced engineering concepts to solve challenges.
• Perform QA/QC to ensure designs meet standards and objectives.
• Direct staff on design approaches and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Promote efficiencies and contribute to engineering standards and guidelines.
