Salas O’Brien in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design of mechanical systems for new facilities and renovations. You will develop construction drawings, specs, studies, and coordinate with clients, project teams, and contractors on infrastructure, healthcare, education, and mission-critical projects.

The role requires a PE license, a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, and 8+ years in HVAC/power piping design, with proficiency in Revit and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Minimum 8 years of design experience in HVAC and power piping.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and design guidelines.
• Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for a variety of building types.
• Perform load and energy calculations using software (e.g., IES).
• Conduct existing building surveys and document systems.
• Develop system design and select equipment based on calculations and analysis.
• Prepare project specifications and design documents, reports, and studies.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines and provide construction administration.
• Lead project teams and mentor junior engineers; serve as primary client contact.
• Assist in business development and client interviews.
