Job summary

Salas O’Brien in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a fast-paced, multi-discipline team. You will design mechanical systems for new facilities, renovations, and upgrades, leading technical drawings, specifications, and calculations.

Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, an EIT or PE, 2–5 years HVAC and power piping design, and proficiency in Revit. Travel up to 15% is required; strong communication and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• EIT or PE license is required.
• 2–5 years of HVAC and power piping design experience.
• Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for a variety of building types.
• Perform load and energy calculations with software such as IES and similar programs.
• Conduct existing building surveys and document existing mechanical systems.
• Develop system design and selection of equipment based on engineering calculation and analysis.
• Develop project specifications.
• Prepare detailed design documents, reports, and studies.
• Complete code compliance research.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines.
• Provide construction administration services, including site visits during construction, submittal review, and RFI responses.
