Job summary

Salas O’Brien in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a fast-paced, multi-discipline team. You will design mechanical systems for new facilities, renovations, and upgrades, providing technical leadership for drawings, specs, and studies.

Travel up to 15% is expected as you collaborate with clients and project teams. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering, an EIT or PE license, 2–5 years of HVAC and piping design experience, and proficiency in Revit

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Engineering in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 2–5 years of design experience in HVAC and power piping systems.
• Familiar with relevant codes, standards, and design guidelines.
• Ability to travel up to 15%.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for a variety of building types.
• Perform load and energy calculations with software such as IES and similar programs.
• Conduct existing building surveys and document existing mechanical systems.
• Develop system design and selection of equipment based on engineering calculation and analysis.
• Develop project specifications.
• Prepare detailed design documents, reports, and studies.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines.
• Provide construction administration services, including site visits during construction, submittal review, and RFI responses.
• Perform QA/QC of design work.
