Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of mechanical systems for buildings across sectors including Higher Education, Culture and Performing Arts, Healthcare, K-12, and more. You will guide mechanical teams, produce construction documents in Revit, and manage schedules to meet deliverables.

The role requires a PE license, a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering, and 10+ years of experience with HVAC, central utility plants, plumbing, and fire

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• 10+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer including HVAC, central utility plants, plumbing and fire suppression design.
• Knowledge of the design and construction process and ability to communicate with other disciplines.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of mechanical building systems for various sectors.
• Create and coordinate documents using Revit.
• Perform mechanical/HVAC calculations including code research.
• Perform plumbing/fire protection calculations including code research.
• Write and review specifications.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs and submittals.
• Conduct site visits as needed.
• Manage mechanical project teams.
