Job summary

DLR Group is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for energy and infrastructure projects, with emphasis on gas piping for CHP systems. You will guide design teams, prepare construction documents in AutoCAD or Revit, and ensure schedules meet project milestones.

Location options include Denver or Phoenix, with a four-day in-office cadence and Friday remote flexibility. Ideal candidate has 10+ years in HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression and utility plants, plus PE license

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• 10+ years of experience including HVAC, central utility plants, plumbing, fire suppression, and gas piping.
• Proficient with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of systems for energy and infrastructure projects.
• Manage mechanical design teams and schedules to meet deliverables.
• Collaborate with other disciplines in integrated design processes.
• Prepare detailed drawings and calculations using Revit or AutoCAD.
• Review specifications, shop drawings, RFIs and submittals.
• Perform code research and mechanical calculations.
