Job summary

HEAPY is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Indianapolis to join a collaborative, colleague-first culture. You’ll work on mechanical systems in the built environment, applying standard design techniques and advancing with AI/automation as appropriate.

You’ll interact with clients, vendors, and project teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited degree, have 4+ years of mechanical experience, and are progress toward FE/PE licensure.

Qualifications

• Possession of a 4-year ABET-accredited engineering degree or equivalent.
• Typically 4+ years of related experience in mechanical engineering for built environments.
• FE Certification in progress toward PE Registration, with PE targeted within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate input into design models and understand underlying reasons.
• Collaborate to prepare plan details, cost estimates, and calculations.
• Gather and record information for design specifications and reviews.
• Review vendor drawings and submittals for specification compliance.
• Prepare designs, technical reports, and specifications for approval.
• Perform field observations and measurements to inform designs.
